IT Service Management Specialist – Production Control

• Monitor and manage job flows using CA Workload Automation DE (dSeries).

• Identify job failures, investigate potential causes, and escalate issues to the appropriate on-call technical staff.

• Execute batch processes and perform preliminary troubleshooting of schedules and processing cycles.

• Establish and maintain job dependencies.

• Execute and troubleshoot test flows.

• Support occasional software migrations into production and test environments.

• Document critical job failures, scheduling issues, and operational problems.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field and four years of relevant IT service management, process management, or operations experience; or

• A bachelor’s degree in another field and eight years of relevant experience; or

• An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Relevant experience:

• Three to five years of scheduling experience using a Windows-based scheduling system.

• Five years of experience escalating and documenting critical job failures and scheduling problems.

• Five years of hands-on experience executing and troubleshooting schedulers, batch processes, and cycle flows.

• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred technical skills:

• Production control experience in mainframe or midrange computing environments.

• CA Workload Automation DE or a comparable enterprise scheduling platform.

• z/OS JCL, TSO/ISPF, GDGs, File-AID, and IDCAMS.

• Mainframe compile, link, and bind procedures.

• UNIX, PuTTY, WinSCP, FTPS, and Connect.

• PeopleSoft PeopleTools, including Process Monitor.

• Rational ClearQuest and ClearCase.

• Familiarity with standard software development lifecycle methodologies.

• Microsoft Word and Excel.

Salary range is between $77,000.00 to $87,000.00 annually, (commensurate with experience).
