Social Worker
Jennifer Temps, Inc. is seeking compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Social Workers to support youth ages 12–21 in a residential setting in Claverack, NY. This opportunity is ideal for professionals passionate about youth development, behavioral support, and helping young individuals overcome challenges while building the skills necessary for successful independent living.
Your Tasks
- Supervise and support youth ages 12–21 in a residential setting.
- Maintain a safe, structured, supportive, and therapeutic environment.
- Assist youth in developing essential life skills, healthy relationships, and positive behaviors.
- Implement behavioral support strategies, conflict-resolution techniques, and harm-reduction practices.
- Collaborate with social workers, counselors, educators, and other professionals to address individual needs.
- Support educational development, employment readiness, and community transition goals.
- Encourage positive communication, accountability, and personal responsibility.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with youth, families, and team members.
- Observe and report behavioral concerns, incidents, and significant changes in youth development.
- Follow established policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements.

Licensing:
Education and Experience:
Candidates should meet one of the following education and experience qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, with two years of full-time direct care experience working with youth ages 6–21.
- Associate's degree with at least six months of relevant experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent with at least one year of relevant experience.
Preferred Experience:
Direct care experience working with youth in one or more of the following settings:
- Juvenile justice facilities
- Residential treatment programs
- Youth rehabilitation programs
- Community centers or youth development programs
- Mental health facilities
- Correctional or structured residential environments
Additional Requirements:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors and resolve conflicts professionally.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse youth populations.
- Strong teamwork, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to work day, evening, or night shifts.
- Must successfully meet all applicable background investigation requirements.
