Dietitian
Jennifer Temps is seeking a qualified Dietitian for a full-time opportunity at a New York State-operated behavioral health facility in Brooklyn, NY. This role offers the opportunity to work in a structured, interdisciplinary environment while providing meaningful clinical nutrition services.
Your Tasks
- Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), including consultation with physicians on nutrition support needs
- Maintain and coordinate clinical nutrition medical records in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Complete annual nutrition assessments and ongoing progress notes based on individual risk levels
- Attend treatment team and discharge planning meetings
- Process diet changes and maintain accurate diet lists and computerized records
- Make recommendations to improve or maintain individuals’ nutritional status
- Conduct nutrition education groups as assigned
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to support comprehensive patient care
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and promote nutritional health and safety
- Perform diet office duties in the absence of support staff
- Utilize computer systems effectively for documentation and reporting
- Perform other duties as assigned
Our requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential
- Knowledge of Medical Nutrition Therapy practices
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Basic computer proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a clinical or behavioral health setting
- Familiarity with regulatory environments (e.g., OMH)
- Experience with electronic medical records systems
- Strong communication and patient education skills
