Registered Nurse - Correctional Healthcare Assignment

Key Responsibilities

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards, including handling and documentation of controlled substances
• Maintain and monitor general medical inventory and supplies
• Assess, review, and monitor the overall health status of youth residents
• Prepare, evaluate, and implement nursing intervention plans consistent with individualized treatment plans
• Ensure compliance with infection control policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards
• Prepare required clinical and administrative documentation and reports
• Participate in staff trainings, meetings, and facility-based medical planning
• Collaborate as a member of the facility’s medical and treatment team
• Perform additional nursing duties as discussed during the interview process

Qualifications

• Active New York State license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Ability to work effectively in a structured, secure residential setting
• Strong clinical judgment, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to maintain professionalism, boundaries, and confidentiality in a correctional environment
