Assess inmate and staff medical complaints
Transcribe and implement provider orders and prescriptions
Enter laboratory requests and generate requisitions
Administer medications
Perform end-of-shift narcotics, sharps, and tool counts
Respond to emergency sick calls and medical emergencies; operate AED as required
Provide vaccinations
Deliver wound care and diabetic care
Conduct inmate health education and clinical evaluations
Utilize computerized systems, including Microsoft Office and a DOS-based medical application
Active New York State RN license
Minimum one (1) year of acute care RN experience(Medical/Surgical, Emergency Department, or ICU)
Current CPR certification
Annual TB test (current)
Strong computer proficiency
Ability to comply with all security directives and facility protocols
High level of dependability and professionalism
Prior experience working in New York State correctional healthcare environments
Experience providing care to underserved or high-acuity populations
Hours: Up to 40 hours per weekSchedule: Shift work between 6:30 AM – 10:00 PM, including weekends and holidaysStart Date: January 2026 (initial term through July 2026, with potential extension)
