Data Analyst
Jennifer Temps is seeking a highly analytical Computer Support Specialist to support data architecture and technical operations within a New York State agency division in Albany, NY. This role requires strong database knowledge, data analysis capabilities, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
Your Tasks
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and validate data using multiple data sources
- Maintain and improve long-term care contact databases
- Run and consolidate ad hoc reports
- Maintain and support data pipelines feeding the OALTC Data Lake
- Create and maintain data dictionaries and documentation
- Map existing databases and maintain data asset documentation
- Provide database maintenance and technical support
- Coordinate with ITS for hardware/software installations
- Train DOH staff on data tools and best practices
- Support COVID-19 data response initiatives
- Perform special assignments and projects as assigned
Our requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Access, Word, Excel, and SharePoint
- Ability to work independently and in team settings
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience working in complex database environments
- Experience creating and maintaining data dictionaries
- Experience mapping databases
- Experience with SQL, Python, R, or Tableau
- Experience in fast-paced public-sector or healthcare environments
